An intense ruby red colour, adorned with subtle garnet hues, Merlot UNO releases intense aromas of dark fruits such as cherries, dried plums, and raspberries. These notes are complemented by hints of Mediterranean aromatic herbs and traces of cocoa.

On the palate, it is elegant and velvety, featuring soft and silky tannins.

UNO reveals a deep ruby-red colour with refined garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers expressive aromas of wild red berries; blackberries, raspberries, and currants, lifted by notes of Mediterranean herbs, undergrowth, and delicate hints of cocoa. The palate is enveloping and intense, with a velvety texture and soft, elegant tannins that create both depth and harmony. Its persistent finish, layered with subtle woodland and herbal nuances, reflects the richness and character of this organic Merlot crafted at Podere Tesoro.

Serving Suggestions –

Serve UNO at 18–20°C to fully appreciate its depth and silky structure. For the best expression of its aromas, we recommend decanting the wine one to two hours before serving, allowing its dark fruit, herbal notes, and cocoa nuances to open beautifully. Ideal for bold red wine glasses that encourage aeration, UNO complements grilled meats, roast pork, game, cured meats, and mature cheeses, yet remains equally rewarding when enjoyed on its own in moments of quiet contemplation.

Vineyard & Terrior

Grapes: 100% Organic Merlot
Production area: Indigenous grapes cultivated in the hills of Radicondoli, Siena, at Podere Tesoro.
Soil: Medium-textured soils, predominantly clay and sand, well-exposed and naturally suited to developing structure, richness, and aromatic depth in Merlot.

Climate & Harvest

Climate: Marked by excellent ventilation and significant day–night temperature variation, allowing the grapes to retain freshness while developing concentrated fruit and herbal complexity.
Harvest: Handpicked toward the end of September, with meticulous selection to ensure optimal ripeness and balance.

Winemaking

Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation with skin maceration for approximately 25 days in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to enhance colour extraction, aromatic intensity, and tannin refinement.
Ageing: Following the Bordeaux tradition, the wine matures in French oak barrels for around 6 months, followed by 6–9 months of bottle refinement to achieve elegance, softness, and depth.
